Modern Jive is a fusion of many styles of dance, including Jive, Salsa, bits of ballroom and other Latin dances.

The dance has developed over the last 25 years and its popularity is due to the fact that it is so easy to learn. You do not need any prior dance experience to start and within weeks you’ll be amazed at what you have mastered.

A typical Jive night in Pudsey starts at 7.30 with the beginner (aimed at new dancers) and improver classes (aimed at those who have mastered the beginners moves).  This is followed at 8.20 by the first freestyle session - you get to practice what you’ve learnt with a variety of partners.  At 8.50, we repeat the beginner class and in the main hall, we teach an intermediate (or on the first Tuesday of the month - something special - e.g., blues, latin, etc) class.From 9.30 though ‘til 10.30 is more freestyle.

We recommend that you wear loose comfortable clothing as it does get warm!
